Ohr Ne'erav

[Kabbalah] also possesses a third virtue. It is that the one who pursues this science will know how to unify his Master and to serve him with a complete heart. If you truly call out to HaShem-יהו"ה, He too will be close to you, as it states,262Psalms 145:18 “HaShem-יהו"ה is close to all who call Him, to all who call Him in truth,” and,263Chronicles I 28:9 “For HaShem-יהו"ה seeks all hearts and He understands the inclination of all thoughts and knows all who take refuge in Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you.”

Sha'arei Orah

Now, all these legions between the earth and the heavens, are like a person who walks in a place of danger. So too, to ascend to the firmament, one’s prayers must pass through these camps. If one is meritorious, robbers will not attack his prayers, but if he is not meritorious, many obstacles and destructive forces will attack him on the way.
